Sue Richmond (email)
Sue grew up orienteering in Norfolk. These days, she prefers AL fell races, with their long walking climbs, as well as navigation events, such as the Lake District Mountain Trial. She has a nice collection of mugs from the Lakeland Classics Series and a couple of Jura glasses.
Anna Wildman (FV40 email)
(Junior coordinator email)
Anna has been hiking and running from a young age,
having been brought up in a family who spent a lot of time
in the great outdoors.
Today, as a mum of 3 young children, she appreciates a long day out in the hills to recharge, and enjoys the
personal challenge of racing. She has placed top 10 in several ultras and has recently completed a BGR.
Toby Savage (MV50 email)
(Long distance email)
Running has been Toby's go-to escape, from the Seven Sisters cross-country marathon in Sussex in the 90s, to the Paddy Buckley Round in Snowdonia last year. For him, the social aspect of Pennine really sets it apart as a club. He enjoys and appreciates the pleasure of being out on the hills, chatting to a bunch of like-minded lunatics about their last (or next) inspiring challenge.
Yvonne Williams
(FV50 email)
(Membership secretary email)
Yvonne started walking in the hills in her teens and took up fell running in her mid 20's. Her favourite races were once runnable short/mediums but as she gets older, the preferred distance seems to be getting longer, having recently completed a most enjoyable Joss Naylor.
Ian Warhurst (email)
Ian has been a member of Pennine since about 1987 and did his BG in 1993. He's done all the Lakeland classics several times, 24 Juras, a sub 12 hour Joss Naylor in 2009 and has been fortunate enough to win quite a few English Champs bronze and silver team medals for the V40 and V50s.
Ellie Johnstone (email)
Geoff Briggs (email)
As a runner, Geoff loved the long, tough fell races, coming 1st MV50 in the Lakeland Classics Series in 2009. He also completed his BG and JNC before ankle problems forced his early retirement from running. As a super fast walker, he still competes regularly in navigation events, mountain marathons and the Lake District Mountain Trial.
Tim Ruck (email)
Tim loves running and racing in the fells and hills.
Over the last 10 years or so he has slowly moved his home closer to Kinder Scout. By his mid 70s
he hopes to be living in one of the caves just on Kinder Low.
He is the RO for the Kinder Trog which is his favourite race in the Hayfield series.

Pat Barry (email)
Originating from the emerald isle Pat has been a member of Pennine for about ten years. Loves the sport but does not trouble the leaderboard very much! Puts a bit back into the sport by being Pennine Treasurer and Groovy Kinder Love race organiser.
Laura Iredale / Jo Bowen (email)
Growing up in the Lakes Laura was surrounded by beautiful
hills, but was often found horse riding or hiking. Laura was a late starter to running,
only taking it up in her late 20's. She prefers long races such as the Lakeland 50, Haworth Hobble and
the Buttermere 'Short'. Laura is always up for a social event! One of the best bits about the running
club is the pub social afterwards.
If you have an idea for a social, why not contact Jo & Laura about it.
Simon Coldrick (email)
Simon grew up in South Cumbria and misspent his youth running, climbing,
walking and biking. Doing cross country in the rain and mud at secondary school didn't put him off too much,
but now he prefers to run in the hills.
Send Simon your write ups and photos from any outdoors event or trip.
The club journal - The Pennine Way - is published in early February
Alastair (email)
Alistair grew up cross country running in the Malvern Hills, kept running solo through years of business travel and then years of (hilly) half marathons in the Hebrides led to Scottish Hill Champs in 2016 and joining Pennine after the Eskdale Elevation a year later. He races but not seriously with High Cup Nick another regular favourite in his diary.
