Training on Thursdays

Meet at The Sportsman Inn, Kinder Road, Hayfield (ample parking on Kinder Road) at 7pm ...... or meet in the pub later.
Check the club calendar for any last minute changes or special events.

Depending on who is there, we split into three or four groups of varying speeds (often including a brisk walking group for those who don't want a run!) for a hilly, off road run which generally lasts between 90 minutes and two hours. This may involve running on small trods or completely pathless terrain on and around the Kinder plateau for some of the time even when it's dark. Each group decides their own route on the night. You can view some example route descriptions and maps for a few of the routes we do here. This is an informal training session, without qualified run leaders.

Non-members are very welcome, please contact Geoff (secretary@penninefellrunners.co.uk) to let us know you're coming. As well as introducing you to a group that is likely to be a similar speed, we will try to offer you a buddy to run with for company when you first come down, as long as someone is available. Please make sure you have the right kit, including a map of the area, as you will still need to look after yourself while you're out.

Plase read our training guidelines for additional information on what's expected of those wanting to participate in a club run. Please also look at: Pennine's hill running safety page.

Other (Informal) Training Sessions

There is a regular Tuesday evening group who meet each week at 7:00pm in the Royal car park. This is generally a pretty speedy session. Other informal groups meet irregularly.
